Blue Holidays Quilt-Along Day 6
Walking in a Winter Wonderland...
Sew a wintry lap quilt in gorgeous blue and silver holiday prints!
As a lead-up to the holidays, we're sharing the Blue Holidays Quilt-Along with you! This cozy lap quilt features our wintry Blue Holidays collection--perfect to use all winter long!
Follow along as we reveal the quilt row by row and make it yourself to snuggle under all winter long. The finished quilt measures 60" x 68" and features five different pieced blocks.
Today we're sharing the steps to assemble the quilt top!
Assembling the Quilt 
You’ll Need:
3/8 yard White Filigree print
3/4 yard Gray Ornament print
1-1/2 yards White Snowflake print
5/8 yard of binding fabric of choice
68” x 76” piece of batting
4 yards of backing fabric
Cutting:
From the White Filigree:
(1) 7-1/2” x WOF strip; subcut into (2) 2-3/4” x 7-1/2” pieces, (5) 2-1/2” x 7-1/2” pieces, (5) 2” x 7-1/2” pieces and (2) 1-1/2” x 7-1/2” pieces
From the Gray Ornament:
(10) 2” x WOF strips
From the White Snowflake:
(5) 5” x lengthwise strips (fussy-cut the strips so the same motif is centered in each)
From the binding fabric
(7) 2-1/4" x WOF strips
Assemble the Quilt:
Step 1 Sew the (4) Star #1 Blocks together into a 48-1/2” long row.
Step 2 Sew together the (6) Ornament Blocks alternating with (5) 2” x 7-1/2” White Filigree strips. Sew 2-3/4” x 7-1/2” White Filigree strips to both ends to complete the 48-1/2” long row.
Step 3 Sew the (4) Star #2 Blocks together into a 48-1/2” long row.
Step 4 Sew together the (6) Present Blocks alternating with (5) 2-1/2” x 7-1/2” White Filigree strips. Sew 1-1/2” x 7-1/2” White Filigree strips to both ends to complete the 48-1/2” long row.
Step 5 Sew together the (4) Star #3 Blocks, alternating the Navy Ornament and Blue Stripe blocks as shown, to make a 48-1/2” long row.
Step 6 Sew the (10) 2” x WOF Gray Ornament strips short ends together into a long strip. Cut (6) 48-1/2” lengths and (2) 59-1/2” lengths.
Step 7 Lay out the (5) block rows alternating with (6) 2” x 48-1/2” Gray Ornament strips. Sew the rows and strips together. Add the 2” x 59-1/2” Gray Ornament strips to the opposite long sides of the quilt.
Step 8 Trim (2) 5” x 54” White Snowflake strips to measure 51-1/2” long. Sew to the top and bottom of the quilt center. Sew the remaining (3) 5” x 54” White Snowflake strips short ends together and cut (2) 68-1/2” lengths. Sew to the opposite long sides of the quilt.
Your quilt top is complete!
Layer the backing, batting, and quilt top and baste to secure. Quilt as desired, trim the backing and batting even with the quilt top, and use the (7) 2-1/4” x WOF strips to bind the quilt.
